Violation Workflow/Charts

 

The process of identifying and enforcing code violations is outlined for each type of ordinance. Basic structure includes:

 

1. Investigation of a third-party complaint or initiated during the code enforcement officers' inspection of public and private properties, while patrolling.

2. Notice is sent/given to the property owner(s)

3. Appeal process, if initiated by the property owner

4. After the appeal process, if the violation stands, resume the allotted time for correction by the property owner.

5. Once the allotted time is up, action is taken by the municipality to correct the violation (Please see the flowchart that matches a violation for the complete procedure below.
