Western Piedmont Council of Government - Building Expansion Advertisement for Bids
Sealed proposals will be received until 3:30 PM, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 in the Main Conference Room of the offices of Western Piedmont Council of Governments (WPCOG), 1880 2nd Avenue NW, Hickory, NC 28601, Attn. David Pugh for the construction of the WPCOG Office Addition and Renovations at which time and place Bids will be opened and read aloud. Bids may also be mailed to P.O. Box 9026, Hickory, NC 28603 but timing of mail processing must be considered and USPS receipt prior to 1:30 PM on Bid Day is mandatory to allow Owner retrieval and transport to office. Single-prime, lump sum bids will be taken for construction as indicated in the bidding documents. Proposals must be made on standard forms furnished by the Architect within the Project Manual.

Printed copies of Drawings and Specifications may also be ordered directly from Accent Imaging Inc., 725 11th Ave Blvd SE, Hickory, NC (Ph.: 828.322.5050; Email: hickory@accentimaging.com) , for the cost of printing, binding, shipping, and handling (estimated at $350.00 per complete set). Printed sets are not returnable and fees for printing same are non-refundable. Neither OWNER nor ARCHITECT will be responsible for Bidding Documents obtained from sources other than from MPS. Only complete sets of drawings and specifications will be provided.
Prime Contractors wishing to submit a bid for this project must provide a MANDATORY written Letter-of-Interest to the WPCOG’s authorized Design Consultant [McMillan Pazdan Smith; Mail: 1422 S. Tryon Street, Suite 700, Charlotte, NC 28203; Attention: Kay Keshav or by e-mail: Kkeshav@mcmillanpazdansmith.com] at least 72 hours in advance of the bid opening in order to be placed on the official Bidders List for automatic distribution of potential addenda and to be offered consideration by the Owner (WPCOG) as a responsive bidder. Bids submitted by Prime Contractors that have not provided a Letter-of-Interest may be considered non-responsive.

The laws of North Carolina and applicable regulations of various Licensing Boards and M/W/SBE provisions will be observed in receiving bids and awarding contracts.
A pre-bid meeting for all interested Bidders will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the Western Piedmont Council of Governments Office site at 1880 2nd Avenue NW, Hickory, NC. The meeting will begin promptly in the Main Conference Room and is optional but attendance is strongly encouraged.
Western Piedmont Council of Governments (Owner) reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities or technicalities, as it may deem to be in its best interest.
